COURSE OVERVIEW
This brand new qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge to enter a range of animal care and management occupations, or be your next step to Higher Education.
This T Level offers a pathway into:
- Animal Management and Behaviour
Over two years you will undertake classroom based learning, developing understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to employability, such as sustainability, ethical principles, communication, business and health and safety. Alongside this, you’;ll also complete animal care and management specific content through a curriculum designed by employers in the sector, which includes some practical work with the range of species in our Animal Centre.
You will also complete a 45 day industry placement to develop your practical skills and animal care knowledge further. With this blend of technical study program and industry experience, the T Level in Animal Care and Management is the first step for students on a pathway to rewarding careers in the animal care sector.

You will also need to attend an interview with our Programme leader
Applicants will benefit from having some animal care experience, but not essential.
Age: You will need to be aged between 16 -; 18 at the start of the qualification
Learners will be in a strong position to study Higher education and study at degree level, complete a higher apprenticeship or move seamlessly into employment opportunities:

The core content is assessed through externally set and marked exam and an employer set project. The vocational content assessed through a synoptic assessment pulling all theory and practical skills together. Both of these assessments take place in year 1 and 2. Students have to complete a minimum 315 hrs of work placement over the two-year programme.

How much will the T Level course cost me?
Course fee of £50 to cover PPE, you will also receive a course polo top.
If you are under 19 on 31st August of the same year you intend to start your course, the tuition fees and exam costs are free for our courses.
You may also be required to pay costs associated with study tours or additional qualifications.

You will be expected to carry out practical work at Brinsbury’; s Animal Centre, which includes completing 8-12 days a year on weekends or during holidays, and a 5 day block over the summer holidays.
