COURSE OVERVIEW
The Laser Level 2 course is an ideal bridge between a L1 and L2 technical qualification and offers learners the opportunity to develop desirable work-based skills required for work in the Animal Care industry. The Laser course focuses on teaching students the practical skills required to care for animals and teaches students how to seek employment opportunities within the sector by developing their animal husbandry and work-based skills.
FURTHER INFORMATION
Each applicant should have preferably obtained 1 GCSE in either maths, English or science at grade 4 or above. Where both maths and English have not been obtained, we may discuss alternative L1 Animal Care courses we offer here at Brinsbury.
On successful completion of the Laser, you may be eligible to progress onto the Level 2 technical course in Animal Management subject to achieving at least one of your maths or English GCSEs alongside your programme or alternatively, take your newly developed skills into the workplace into industries such as, rescue centres, pet shops, kennels and catteries
The qualification is assessed through coursework, practical observations and projects.
Students will be required to purchase a protective overcoat at the price of £25 during induction, which will be used for practical sessions with the animals. Footwear such as walking boots or wellies are also required as students are expected to work in all weather conditions.
