RHS L3 Cert in the Principles of Plant Growth and Development
COURSE OVERVIEW
Designed to inspire and equip the next generation of horticultural talent, the Level 3 Support Specialist and industry-specific pathways have been shaped by the insights of the Ornamental Horticultural Round Table Group (OHRG). This qualification is ideal for those advancing in horticultural careers or pursuing a specialist passion for the supervision, development, and stewardship of gardens and landscapes. From public parks and botanical and heritage gardens to private estates, landscaping projects, maintenance services, and community green spaces, learners are immersed in the diverse and vibrant world of horticulture. As such, the programme successfully bridges the gap between enthusiastic amateur gardeners and experienced professional horticulturists.
Beyond technical expertise, the qualification supports meaningful personal growth. It offers learners the opportunity to re-engage with education, explore career change, and build confidence through applied learning. Participants develop valuable, transferable skills—including problem-solving, implementing effective management plans and programmes, and clear, purposeful communication—preparing them to thrive across a wide range of horticultural and professional settings.
FURTHER INFORMATION
We Strongly recommend applicants hold either a relevant Level 2 Horticultural qualification (RHS Qualification) or can demonstrate comparable relevant experience before pursuing a level 3.
RHS Level 3 in Practical Horticulture
RHS Level 3 Award in Horticultural Investigation
This qualification will be entirely assessed by a summative, unseen written examination for each unit. Therefore examination 1 will cover Unit 1 (topics 1.1-1.4) and examination 2 will cover Unit 2 (topics 2.1-2.4).
The cost of this course is £1415.00 per person
