Chef Knife Making

COURSE OVERVIEW

Discover the craft of blacksmithing and create your own professional-quality chef’;s knife in just one day at Brinsbury.

This hands-on course is ideal for food lovers, aspiring chefs, makers and anyone curious about traditional craftsmanship. Guided by experienced tutors in our specialist forge, you’;ll learn the fundamentals of knife design and manufacture while forging a knife you’;ll be proud to take home and use.

What you’;ll experience:

  • Introduction to knife design, materials and safe workshop practice

  • Forging and shaping high-carbon steel

  • Heat treatment and hardening techniques

  • Grinding, sharpening and finishing

  • Fitting and shaping a comfortable handle

By the end of the day, you’;ll leave with a fully finished, razor-sharp chef’;s knife and a deeper understanding of how high-quality kitchen knives are made.
