COURSE OVERVIEW
Step into the world of traditional craftsmanship with a blacksmithing experience at Brinsbury College Forge, set in the heart of our countryside campus. This hands-on workshop offers an immersive opportunity to learn the ancient art of blacksmithing, guided by experienced Blacksmithing lecturers and industry experienced professionals. Whether crafting a bespoke piece individually or collaborating with a partner/group, you’ll shape metal into something truly unique for your home, garden, or personal collection.
Every experience is tailored to ensure an enjoyable and rewarding day. Our expert team will be by your side, providing guidance, encouragement, and plenty of fun in a welcoming environment.

FURTHER INFORMATION
This course is open to anyone wishing to experience working in a forge, no entry requirements are need, but it is only available to people over 16 years of age due to H&S requirements.
You will have the opportunity to join other Saturday workshops throughout the year. There are full time course which you may be of interest to you in Blacksmithing too – see our website.
We also have a more intense 6 week (3 hours per week) beginners Blacksmithing course.
There isn’t any formal assessment , but our trained staff will give you constant feedback and advise on how to improve techniques.
The cost of the course of £180 will cover the materials in gaining the techniques used in the forge, as well as the expertise from our trained and experienced staffing team
Please understand that this course will run if enough people apply to attend the course. A minimum of 5 applicants working with one staff member, or a max of 10 and we will have 2 staff joining the group. We are offering this course at additional dates during the year, so watch this space for more opportunities.
