Brinsbury College wowed thousands of visitors earlier this month at the recent South of England show, with students and staff receiving a variety of prizes.

Representatives from the college worked hard in the lead-up to the event to ensure that the college’s stand looked amazing for the show, which took place last weekend (6-8 June).

The college’s horticulture students won the people’s choice award for their show garden, receiving two-thirds of the vote from the visiting public, and a silver medal from the judges.

Agriculture students from the college also showed cattle on the day, taking first, second, and third in the calf heifer category with Ayrshire cows from the college.

Two of the college’s agricultural students also placed second and third in the young handler’s category.

Animal care students from the college also won a host of awards for a variety of bird eggs from the college, from reserve champion for a trio of goose eggs, to first place for a cream bantam chicken egg.

Alison Bell, Acting Vice Principal at Brinsbury College, said:
“The team at Brinsbury College have truly outdone themselves once again this year, showcasing an exceptional level of dedication, collaboration, and perseverance

“The South of England show is always one of the highlights in the college’s calendar, and each year everyone goes the extra mile to showcase what makes our college special.

“A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the wide variety of entries and displays put on by our college – you all did the college proud!”
