COURSE OVERVIEW
This course is designed to meet the needs of the students who are uncertain about their future in either education or the workplace.
Learners have the opportunity to access work environment and develop skills and qualities required for the workplace.
Learners will have the opportunity of running their own Business Enterprise as well as developing their Functional Skills in English and Maths.
The course will build on the individual strengths and identify areas for to further develop confidence and self-esteem.
The course is designed to enable learners to experience the varied vocation options on offer at college and make informed choices about their progression. Learners will be supported and encouraged to undertake a work experience placement.

FURTHER INFORMATION
The learner will need an interest in developing skills for work, to aspire to progress onto either Gateway 4 or a Level 1 course and should be working at Entry Level 2 or above.
The learner will progress onto a higher level of academic/vocational study, Supported internship and/or employment. This will be reviewed throughout your time at college and discussed at your progress and transition reviews in terms of individual pathway.
We will identify the learner’;s individual strengths and areas for improvement from our initial assessments, learner outcomes and observations. Each learner will receive an individualised curriculum that is designed for each person. Progress will be monitored using the RARPA process where personal targets are set and regularly reviewed with the learner, the tutor, parents, carers and other professionals. There is an opportunity to run an Enterprise project, where newly acquired skills can be practiced in a safe and nurturing environment.
There is a mandatory cost of £50 at the beginning of term. You will also need to make payments of £3 per week towards cookery lessons for one term.
