Brinsbury booms through Jim Green Challenge

A group of students from Brinsbury College won first place at the 25th annual Jim Green Challenge last month.

On Wednesday, March 15, a total of 70 young people and adults with additional educational needs gathered at the South of England Showground for the chance to participate in practical competitions and project work. 

The participants were challenged by putting a range of their creative and practical skills to the ultimate test. 

Despite tough competition, the team from Brinsbury were crowned the Jim Green Challenge rose bowl by competition judge, Michael Harris, from Sussex Masonic Charities. 

Sally Challis Manning, Principal of Brinsbury College, said: “What a huge success for our students to place first at this year’s Jim Green Competition. 

“A team from our campus has participated in this wonderful competition for almost 15 years running and each year the creativity and dedication from our students never fails to amaze me.” 

Other participants included teams from sister campus, Chichester College, Aldingbourne Country Centre, Princess Christian’s Farm, Plumpton College, Young Epilepsy (St Piers College) and Manor Green College.
