Sunshine and smiles at this year’s Brinsbury Show & Country Fayre
Plenty of fun for the family! That was the reaction to this year’s Brinsbury Show & Country Fayre.
The sun shone on the thousands of visitors who turned out to enjoy a day in the countryside at the beautiful Brinsbury College on Sunday 22 May.
It marked the return of the popular family day for the first time since 2019 and those in attendance were quick to heap praise on the staff and students who worked hard to ensure the event was able to go ahead.
Ashleigh Dean said: “We had such an incredible morning. There was so much to do and the staff were all so lovely. I couldn’t fault it at all.”
Sarah Parker added: “We had such a lovely day. Thanks so much to everyone who made it such a success – it was great to be back.”
The fayre offered something for everyone to enjoy, including the ever-popular companion dog show and terrier racing as well as horse presentations in the equine centre and an opportunity to meet a wide range of reptiles, animals, birds and insects at the college’s animal centre.
Archery, chainsaw carving, leaf blower croquet and tractor and trailer rides were among more highlights – all set to a soundtrack of live music, with choirs and local bands entertaining the crowds throughout the day.
Sally Challis-Manning MBE, Principal of Brinsbury College, said: “It was absolutely brilliant to see so many families coming together and enjoying a day out at our beautiful college.
“There was a beautiful atmosphere at Brinsbury. It is always so well supported by the community and this year it felt bigger and better than before – we know how much it has been missed over the past couple of years, so it was wonderful to back!
“Of course, it couldn’t happen without the support of our outstanding students and staff, who volunteer their time to ensure the show can go ahead so I’d like to say a huge thank you to them.”
